Santa and such...

Santa came to the Little Gym this weekend and it was such a treat! Edee was able to get a little extra play time in the gym while waiting for his arrival! She ran right up to him and climbed in his lap before telling him that she wants "a pink ribbon!" That is the one thing that she tells everyone she wants for Christimas! Reed didn't seem to mind a little time with Jolly Ol' Saint Nick!
I just love how they are checking each other out. They can just stare at each other and make the other giggle. It makes my heart smile!
Reed has discovered the incredible, edible...PUFF! He loves, loves, loves feeding himself with these little morels of goodness! He likes to play with a sippy cup, but I don't think any liquid has ever reached his tongue!
He is so much happier now that he can sit with the rest of us at the dinner table. He feels like a member of the family. It is like Edee's book, "Baby Brother Blues" claims...
"He'll be alot more fun when he's a brother, not a baby!"
I think we are getting close to that point! Boo-Hoo for Mommy, but lots of fun for Big Sister!

So...I know I have been HORRIBLE about blog posts lately! I'll try to do better! :-)

It's beginning to look alot like...

CHRISTMAS!!

Yes, it's true! We have our Christmas tree up! Edee loved having a tree up last year and since we will be busy over the Thanksgiving holiday, we decided to surprise her after Sunday's nap. She was completely thrilled, as you can see!
I haven't finished putting up the special ornaments, but she didn't seem to mind!

She liked the reaction we had, so she went in the bathroom and reenacted the scene at least 100 times! It was hilarious! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

Happy Veteran's Day!

We are so thankful for the men and women who serve our country so that we can live this wonderful life! Happy Veteran's Day and may God bless the brave men and women in our armed forces!

Antlers UP! Go RANGERS!!!

My school has celebrated the Ranger's awesome season with a few spirit days. The whole family was excited to share in the fun! Edee and Mommy have a claw/antler hybrid-thing going on!

I love my little gal! She finds a reason to celebrate every day!
Reed with his trademark "What just happened?" look!
Go Rangers! Beat those Giants!!
THE END!! :-)

Life of the Party!

I woke Edee up from her nap on Thursday, so I wasn't sure how that would affect her mood for the afternoon. She was VERY happy when I showed her the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader uniform she would be wearing for the party! (Thank you Olivia and Elizabeth for the hand-me-down!) We even wore panty hose, ruffled bloomers and "fancy boots!" FYI...Everything is "fancy" these days! Even the new tires on my Jeep are "fancy tires!" Pronounced: Fay-n-see, with 3 syllables! A true TEXAS girl! Edee's teacher, Ms. Danielle, looked adorable in her golfing get-up!
Bella Sue, Edee Sue, and Brooke are ready for snacks! Owen Ray (as Yoda), is hanging out in the background!
I was amazed at how well-baved these little ones were! They just sat at the table eating their snacks and talking to one another. It is a hoot to listen to their conversations! Out of nowhere, Edee shouted, "Rah-Rah-Ree! Kick 'em in the knee!" She was really getting into her character!
Reed slept in his pouch during the party! He's got lots to learn if he wants to keep up with his big sister!

My BOO-tiful babes!

Edee plaing Peek-a-Boo on a recent camping trip! We have had several nights recently without Eric. He was working on an install a few nights last week and returned home late from a sales meeting Tuesday. Last night, he had a much deserved night out with some long-time friends. I took Edee to Little Gym while G-Ma stayed with Reed. By the time we got home, had dinner, took baths, etc., we were ALL pooped and missing Daddy! I found Edee entertaining Reed while I was cleaning up the bathroom. She was talking sweetly to him, and he was completely enthralled with her!!
Doesn't Reed look scary??

It's been TOO long!

I was recently reminded that it has been FAR too long since I posted! I know, I know! It's just that between loving on babies, working, camping, "State Fairing," and just loving life, I've been a tiny bit busy! Here's a brief recap, in no particular order!
Here is my little butterball! He is almost 6 months old!! Where has time gone?? Boo-Hoo!! He loved riding in the stroller with his big sister at the State Fair of Texas!
This weather has been PERFECT for camping! We went to Cedar Hill State Park the weekend of TX/OU. It is only about 40 minutes from the house, and we had a perfect weekend! Edee loved every minute of it, and even slept in a big girl bed with no trouble whatsoever!! Here is Big E getting ready to watch the football game. Flat screen TV...check! Propane powered crock pot filled with queso...check! A cooler filled with football worthy refreshments...check!! My man knows how to "rough it!"
We had so much fun at Cedar Hill, that we went to Lake Whitney the following weekend. It was also about 40 minutes from the house. Nice!! Reed is very interested in the world these days, so we dusted off Edee's Jeep walker and he was in hog heaven! He can't move it around yet, but he seems to enjoy just sitting in it watching Edee's shenanigans!
Call me an overprotective mother, but I don't like bugs on my babies! This little net is for car seats, but I found it to be just right for the bouncy! Reed took a few naps on the picnic table in his little cocoon!
Edee was able to ride several of the toddler rides at the fair ALL BY HERSELF!! Is it just me, or does she look a teenager in this picture! (Another Boo-Hoo!) My cheeks hurt from smiling while I was watching my little angel swing around! She was having the time of her life and it sure did make this mommy's day! She loves life and all the new experiences that each day holds! As we were sitting on a ride together, she looked at me and said, "This is the best fair EVER!"
This weekend, we are going to celebrate two happy occasions! Our friends, Rob and Audrey, are tying the knot in McKinney on Saturday evening. On Sunday, I am traveling to Austin to shower Baby Girl Flynn with love and goodies! Nonna is coming in town to help with the babies, and we are looking forward to lots of fun!

Go Rangers!!

Me: Hey, Reed?
Reed: Yes, Mommy??
Me: I have some BIG news!
Reed: Can you tell ME???
Me: The Texas Rangers won the American League West title!!
Reed: Are you kidding me??
Me: I am NOT kidding!
Reed: WEEEEE! That is awesome! I'm jumping for joy! (Sorta!)
Reed: Mommy, can I be a Texas Ranger when I grow up?? I'm REAL cute! :=) (Okay, he really didn't say that part!)
GO Rangers!! Makes me think back to all those games Allison and I attended as single ladies, cheering in the heat from the nosebleeds! We were no fair-weather fans back then! :-)

Daddy's Kitchen: Order Up!

Daddy made blueberry pancakes for breakfast and Edee was one lucky little lady! She had just finished watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, only to find Mickey had landed on her plate! She wasted no time digging in and making a huge mess!
I love that she is holding her fork, but still picking it up with her fingers! Excuse her hair, but I just tried to get it out of her face in a hurry!
Meanwhile, Reed has decided to sleep in today. He was up a few times last night but went right back to sleep after I fed him. I think he likes stretching out in his crib! On a different note, HEB is officially open in Burleson but I haven't made it yet. Eric tried to go on opening day, but you had to park across the street and take a bus! I might have to wait a few days until the hype has died down!

"NO, Brudder!"

I was trying to get a cute picture of these two sitting sweetly in Edee's chair. Immediately, Edee was not interested. You can tell by the look on her face and the grip she has on his foot. So, at the ripe-old-age of almost 5 months, Reed already knows how to push her buttons! He proceeds to extend his leg toward her while she tries to make her escape, screaming, "NOOOO, Brudder!"
Is this not a mischievious look? I think he is pleased with his attempt at annoying his big sister!

And so it begins...

Friday Night Lights: Take 2...

After completing my original post, I remembered that Mom emailed me some pics of McKenzee from last week's game. I'm a very proud Aunt Wee, so I MUST show off Miss Mackee Sue!
I remember when she was Reed's age!!! I don't want to even THINK about my babies in high school! BOO-HOO-HOO!!!!!!!

Friday Night Lights!

Aunt Tee turned 40 on Friday night, so the Neubauer and Edwards families descended on the North Forney vs Keller Timbercreek football match up! Aunt Tee is the drill team director for North Forney, which just opened last year. We met Uncle Robin and Aunt Terri at their house for burgers and hot dogs before the game. We love to visit them! Their house is very kid-friendly and Edee knows exactly where all the fun stuff is located. Aunt Terri has 3 children and she is a teacher, so she knows all about little ones! Edee's favorite thing to do at their house is to play the drums on Rock Band. Just before we left, Aunt Terri gave Edee a pair of drumsticks that belonged to her son, Jonathon, who passed away from cancer last year when he was just seventeen. Edee was thrilled and we will treasure such a special gift!!
Edee is looking up at the Sapphire Strutters drill team in these pictures and mimicing them as they did a bleacher routine. If they shook their pom-poms, Edee shook hers. If they turned around, she did the same. If they sat down, she threw herself to the ground. It was hilarious! She was absolutely amazed!
I'm sure McKenzee was having a hard time concentrating and not watching her little protege! McKenzee looked so beautiful in her uniform. I can't believe she is almost 15!! :-(
These are the young ladies that Edee was immitating. Our precious McKenzee is on the next to the last row in the center seat, looking sheepishly at the camera. (I don't know how to make marks on the picture to point to her. Sorry!)It was a great night, and both little ones were fantastic! We didn't get home until 10:30, which I believe might be an all-time record for latest bedtime for Edee! Needless to say, both of them were ready for a nap today. Now, we are getting ready for a visit from Uncle Jamas tomorrow. We also will get to see Poppy Wally as he makes his way home from the Oklahoma State Fair. It's going to be a fun Sunday evening at our house!

Labor Day (Better late than never!)

We spent Labor Day weekend in the sunshine and heat of the Texas Hill Country! Poppy Wally and GiGi were kind enough to accept our crazy crew for a few days! Big E brought the Sami and spent Saturday in Mason, Texas, at the ZukiCrawl. It's pretty much a redneck, off-road rally! The babies and I decided that sleeping in the Suburban was not part of our holiday plans and stayed at Lake Travis. When E returned on Sunday, we spent some time chillin' at the lake with the Kiely family at their boathouse. Edee loves to ride the tram down from their house. The child has NO fear! Here comes GiGi down the hill with all of our stuff! Who invented the water noodles?? They are a genius! I think we could have all stayed out there for hours! Edee was right in the middle of the action. (She's the tiny pink hat between 2 orange, water-wing dots! She was also wearing a life jacket!)

There was also some grillin', fishin', eatin', drinkin' and exceptional hospitality involved in the afternoon. I didn't get a picture, but the Kiely's 12 year-old grandson, Alec, was with us. I think Edee has her first "crush!" She kept calling his name and saying, "Don't jump, Alec!" when he jumped from the upper deck. Once he came up from under water, she yelled, "Good splash, Alec!" It was so cute! He is a great kid, so Edee can fall in love with him in about 14 years! Just kidding!! ;-)
Mr. Reed even knows how to soak up a good time! I have a picture of Edee in this same position when she was only about 6 weeks old. The babies LOVE the motion as the deck moves with the waves.
Thanks to the Flynn's for coming over for a visit Friday evening! It was nice to see how much baby girl is growing! It is always fun for Brad and Eric to get together and participate in their "shenanigans," and this meeting was no exception! Good times!

Reed's 4 month check-up

My sweet guy had his check up this afternoon, and he was a big, brave boy! He weighs 14.8 pounds and was 26 inches long. I looked in Edee's book and she was 14 pounds and 25 1/2 inches at her 4 month check-up. He wants to grow up healthy and strong like his sister! He is not wrapped in a pink blanket, contrary to what Daddy thinks! He looked so cold in just his diaper, so I grabbed by nursing cover out of the diaper bag. He just cooed and laughed the entire time! That is...until the nurse came in and gave him his vaccines! He HATED the liquid that he had to swallow, but he only cried for a few seconds when they gave him his shots. He also took another 2 ounces from a bottle at school today! We're celebrating the small victories!
We attended a birthday party for our friend, Mia, on Saturday. Edee was a well-mannered party guest, so she received a small surprise when we got home: an Angelina Ballerina doll! She is a big fan of the show, which unfortunately only comes on one day a week! We've recorded a few episodes on the DVR, but I'm starting to have them memorized!
My first half day was a huge success! I had a very productive morning with my students, but I sure was ready to hit the door! The babies were so happy when I arrived to pick them up, and Edee slept for almost 4 hours in her own bed at naptime! I'm hoping Reed and I can catch a little snooze tomorrow! ;-)
