OH...What a night!

Edee could barely contain her excitement on Saturday!! She has been waiting for weeks to attend the annual Daddy/Daughter Valentine's dance!!

She let me blow dry AND use a curling iron on her hair!! That is a first! I gave her a little gold locket that I cherished as a little girl, and she looked like a doll in her new dress from G-Ma and Paw-Paw!!

Her date looked exceptionally handsome! It is hard to believe that it's been almost 10 years since he first wore that tux on our wedding day!!

Upon entering the dance, Edee received a corsage and had her picture taken with Daddy. After enjoying some pizza and salad, it was time to hit the dance floor for the Chicken Dance!!

There were many dances, games and even a conga line with our friends, Mr. Zack and Kenzie!

When Daddy saw his little lady cuddled up with her coat, he knew it was time to call it a night! Each girl received a box of candy as they left. When Edee accepted her treat, she politely asked, "Can I please have one for my brother?"

She ended the night cuddled up in our bed watching Charlie Brown's Valentine Special. She was exhausted but would never admit it!!

Wishing you a Valentine's Day that is all you've dreamed up and more!!

Love is in the Air!

Edee & Reed had Valentine's Day parties at school on Friday afternoon. Daddy was back and accompanied Edee to her classroom! She wore her "Daddy's Girl" shirt and was not about to let him out of her sight!! They had lots of yummy treats!!

They exchanged Valentines and munched on plenty of candy!!

Reed was happy to get his hands on a Capri Sun!

You can't see his shirt but it says, "Mama's Boy!" THAT is for sure!!

Reed and his ladies are always side by side! These three cuties were together last year, too. They are three peas in a pod!

Edee joined us just before we all headed home.

Love and kisses!!

While Daddy is Away...

Eric headed to Austin today for a technology conference, so we have to make do without our Daddy for a few days! Edee chose to nap with every stuffed animal she owns! I think she needed a little extra love!

I made tuna casserole for dinner since Daddy is not a fan! Edee ate two bowls full and Reed had three!!

We dropped Reed off with our good friend, Jamie, and headed for dance class.

Edee received her recital costume tonight and was mesmerized by the sight of such a beautiful ballerina!!

"You mean it even has a butterfly hair clip??"

I could eat her up!! She is such a precious joy!!!

Meanwhile, Brother was enjoying "second dinner" at Jamie's! I'm also happy to report that he never mentioned my name! He had a ball and had no trouble going to sleep when we came home!

I can only imagine how many times I will be asked over the next few days, "Where's Daddy?"

Corn, cookies and campers!

My little ones LOVE their corn on the cob!! Edee is especially fond of it! Here she is in her typical "CHEEEZ" pose!

Reed follows her lead for awhile but ultimately gives his over to Edee!

We received a new supply of Nonna's special Snickerdoodle cookies!! Hooray!! (Clearly, Elkee is a big fan!)

Reed's favorite activity these days is climbing all over Mommy in the living room chairs! He likes to stand on the edge of the foot rest while it is extended and says, "Ready?" Then, he launches himself at me in one swift move! He's ALL boy!!

We bought the kids this little tent for Christmas and we set it up inside from time to time. They love it!! We moved it to Edee's room one night and she slept in it! I can see many fun times for these two in this little shelter!

Edee was also practicing her blow gun skills!! I guess it could become a makeshift hunting blind!!

Fireman Party

We had a BIG time at Cameron's party on Saturday! He is in Edee's class and his mom is an awesome member of my team at school! Her husband is a fireman and also sells fire trucks, so he was able to bring one home for the party!

The kids were able to take a ride through the neighborhood with lights and sirens blaring!

Brian also hooked up the hose so everyone could have a turn spraying!

Reed even had to get in on the action!!

Of course, we had to pose for pictures on the truck! It was still running and Reed was a little uneasy about the vibrations!

Sara created this adorable cake to top off a fabulous day of fireman fun!!
