COLD weekend!

It has been a very COLD weekend! We opted to cancel our trip to Nonna's when the weather became unpredictable. The girls had planned to go shopping in Canton while Eric went wheelin' in Gilmer, but we decided to just curl up at home. Edee stayed in her PJs on Saturday with a nice, warm fire glowing all day. On Sunday, we decided she needed some play time, so we headed to McDonald's for breakfast. I was shocked that she had the play area all to herself! We were also surprised by the unexpected snow flurries that appeared while we were out! No accumulation, but it was a nice treat! With the help of Daddy, she ventured all the way to the top of the BIG play area! They came down the slide together and it was hilarious! That place is NOT built for Daddies! She is also perfectly content on this little elephant slide!
We stopped by Target on the way home to check out a travel crib for Reed. (There...I said it! I'm trying to get more comfortable calling him by name and not just "baby brother!") I am giving the pink one that Paige and Edee used to a friend in my mom's group. I'm sure her precious Mackenzie (due any day) will love the pink frills. However, we just thought it would be nice for Reed to have something a little more masculine. We don't want him to see pictures of himself later in a pink crib and hold it against us!! (Thank you, MeeMaw Charlotte, for the Target gift cards!!)
Edee picked out this new baby doll while we were there. It cries, moves its arms, and likes a pacifier or bottle. Edee is a cute litte mommy!
Hope y'all are staying warm!

Fort Worth Children's Museum-Part 1

I had my glucose screening first thing this morning, so I took the day off work. While I was waiting, I pre-registered at the hospital for delivery! Dr. O and I discussed dates, and it looks like we are planning to have a baby on April 23! I can't believe we are getting so close! :-) Meanwhile, Edee and I spent the remainder of the morning at the Fort Worth Children's Museum with some friends. It was so much fun to watch her run EVERYWHERE! You could almost SEE her little wheels spinning! Edee had lots of fun picking out a tutu in the dress-up box! She also got a kick out of looking at herself in the mirror!
I thought it was hilarious that she wore this helmet on the balance beam! I wonder if she would just wear one around the house for the occasional climb on her changing table?!?

She really enjoyed relocating/stacking/cleaning in the construction area!

Fort Worth Children's Museum-Part 2

Edee and William exploring just one of the areas. William was mesmerized by the bubbles and Edee tried to turn this toy into a kaleidescope!
Little Miss Busy Body loved rolling around on this mat and finally looked up to notice a really cool tree above it.
One of the activities in the hospital area was the X-ray machine. Looks like this snake and I have something in common! By the way, Neu-boy is VERY close to having a name! Reed is a front runner at this time. I must give credit to my friend and hair stylist, Darla, for the idea!

Edee and Kinnick were playing here, but of course one of them had to move when the camera came out! There was just too much to do!

We had lunch at the museum and then ran to the car in the pouring down rain! Edee was asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car! We're looking forward to visiting again soon! For now, we are home safely waiting for the next batch of rain, snow, hail, etc., to make its way through the area! Thank goodness Daddy is making chili for dinner! :-)

Weekend Monkey Business

Mommy was able to have some girl time on Friday evening with a pedicure and dinner at Sushi Axiom. Some girls from my mom's group went out to celebrate Nikki's baby shower. Baby Mackenzie is due on February 15th! Out of the six of us who were there, four are pregnant! (I didn't take any pictures but I'm hoping to borrow some from the other gals.) Meanwhile, Daddy and Edee enjoyed pizza and strawberry ice cream, a new favorite treat for Miss Edee!

On Saturday, we met Randy, Allison, Clara Beth, Shanna B., Doug and Elaine in dowtown Fort Worth for the Stockshow Parade. Edee loved every minute of it! It was all animals and bands, and I was afraid she would get bored. Not this girl! She was outside the entire time with her daddy while I stayed inside to visit! She was asleep before we were back on I-35!
She modified her "cheer suit" with her new princess attire! (Thank you $1 Spot at Target!) I guess it didn't do the trick! What a disappointing loss for the Cowboys! She was over it pretty quickly once the Supercross was on Sunday afternoon! Besides, she was outgrowing her suit and Mommy was definitely not going to fit into her Cowboy's t-shirt much longer!
It would also appear that Edee is part monkey! After our day at the parade, I laid Edee down for a nap. She was awake and fussed a bit as I was leaving the room. This is not out of the norm and when she finally got quiet, I assumed she was asleep. WRONG! I went in to check when I heard what sounded like a knock on her wall. She was OUT of her crib and trying to open her bedroom door!! Needless to say, the crib bumpers have since been removed!
Then on Monday, she was playing in her room while Eric and I watched the news and drank our coffee. Once again, it was quiet in her room (not a good sign), so I went to check on her. She had climbed to the top of her changing table! It is a complete miracle that it didn't turn over on her! We quickly decided that a trip to the park was in order. She climbed, ran, played on the swings and went down the slide over and over in hopes that she would be worn out!
We have a friend who is going to give us a swingset/fort that his boys have outgrown. He lives about an hour and a half away and we haven't really been in a hurry to pick it up...until NOW!! I told Eric today that we were going to have to turn our garage into a modified version of the Little Gym! OH! And this all took place after we learned on Friday afternoon that the silica packets labeled "Do Not Eat" are actually not toxic to humans. Thank you, Poison Control! Is there really another one on the way?!?! Please take it easy on us, Baby No Name!

Go Cowboys!

Edee woke up from her nap just in time to put on her "cheer suit" and grab her pom-pom! She was ready to cheer for the Cowboys! She also had to wear her "Muffin shoes," that were a gift from Conny in Cali!
Anytime she sees the phone or camera now she says, "Cheese!" What a little ham!
Oh! Time for a snack break! All that cheering can make a girl hungry!
All smiles at our house! We like to watch the Cowboys play well, especially against the Eagles! (Sorry Uncle Paul!!)

Tomorrow is back to school for Mommy! Boo-Hoo! I'm sure Edee will be so excited to see her teacher and friends, but I will miss our time at home! We won't have students tomorrow, and I plan to just work until "noon-ish." I guess it won't be too bad! I don't know what I am going to do when little brother arrives. I'm gonna be a REALLY sad Mommy when I have to leave TWO babies! :-(
