Future ROCKSTAR!!

I went to dinner with some friends last night and there was an awesome old-school band playing. They rocked out some ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc.! I came home singing "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap," and I guess our little parrot thought it was a catchy tune!

Splish-Splash! Mommy got hosed!

After seeing how much fun our friend Cooper was having on his new splash pad, I took a trip to Big Lots to find one of our own! Our Big Lots didn't offer that particular water toy, so I settled for this option: Let's just say I had to do some modifications to get the arch to stand up somewhat straight, and the slide was more unstable than I would prefer for my little princess BUT we made it work. She woke up from her nap yesterday and was so surprised to find her own little "water park!" Her teeth were chattering and she kept saying, "It's cold," but she snapped back quickly with a "NO!" when I asked her if she wanted to get out!

SOOOOO, after looking online I found that Target (but not MY Target, of course) carries the splash pad that I was originally looking for! I made a trip to Cedar Hill this morning and spent another chunk of change to buy what I should have searched harder for in the first place! I'm going to set it up later and have it ready for post-nap play. She's now going to expect a new water toy/pool every afternoon, I'm afraid!

I could set them all up and open my own toddler water park! ;-)

Someone got their money's worth!

TeeLee brought this outfit, along with some other cute hand-me-downs, to Edee on her birthday. I don't know who purchased this precious outfit, but it was first worn by McKenzee! For those of you who don't know her, she is now a beautiful 14 year-old young lady! This ensemble looks brand new and Edee was thrilled to wear it to school today! It has certainly stood the test of time!

Thanks for taking such good care of this alligator suit, Aunt Tee! It was a HIT!

Busy...busy...busy!

WOW!!! Where has May gone??? We have been keeping busy with playdates, parties, and simply adjusting to life with two little ones! My dad and Christy came over for a visit on my birthday. Daddy was afraid he wouldn't know how to hold a little boy, but he seems to be doing just fine! I call this picture, "The Everetts!" (Excuse the glare and poor quality, but it is much easier to just take pics with my phone these days!) Edee still calls Christy, "GiGi," even after repeated attempts by me saying, "KiKi." I guess she is in charge of names around here!

We had an impromptu gathering with some friends from Mom's group. Edee loves going to Kinnick's house to play in the kiddie pool. We have one at our house, but it is always more fun to splash around with friends!

While Edee was swimming, Reed was putting the moves on this precious little one, Mackenzie. He's already trying to hold her hand! Slow down, little man!

Playing outside with Daddy is a favorite part of Edee's evening routine! I looked out the window on Tuesday and they were both sitting up in the treehouse part of her playground. They looked like they were having a serious discussion! So cute!! Daddy took this picture and it is SOOOO Edee! Arms out...just taking it all in! Live it up, girl!

Birthday Party Pics...

In true PeePaw (our very own Pulitzer Prize nominated photographer) fashion, we now have some beautiful pictures to treasure! I SOOOO wanted a picture of Edee in this outfit, other than the one I took with my phone. However, she has been fascinated with this "vroom-vroom" since Daddy showed her pictures of two year-olds riding dirt bikes on YouTube. Guess what Daddy is looking to buy on Craig's List? (Lord, help me!) Edee loves her Nonna, especially her motion ring! That piece of jewelry has been entertaining little girls for the last 14 years!

Paige and Sadie couldn't wait to get their hands on the baby cousin. Sadie is an honorary cousin since her Momma, Mika, has been my friend FOREVER!

Edee decided when it was time to open presents but she kept her drink close by, too! Between the swinging, sliding, running and playing...a girl has to stay hydrated!

Pre-Party Post

PeePaw took pictures at Edee's AWESOME birthday party, but he will have to send them to us. For now, here are a couple of pictures I took just before the festivities started!

When Edee woke up from her nap, she was surprised to find balloons ALL over the house and yard! She talked me into letting her tote around a yellow one, which she is holding in this picture. She looked absolutely adorable in her outfit from SheShe Made!
Reed was also decked out in his "Snappy Dresser" outfit! I'm all about the Deadliest Catch, so this may have to be his Tuesday outfit!

The weather has been great all weekend, despite a very omninous forecast. The weather dudes really created quite an unnecessary panic around here as we prepared the shop as a back-up location. Happily, we enjoyed a great day in the backyard! More pictures to come soon!
