Sneak peek...

Thanks to a very busy Sunday cleaning out the office, we were able to set up the nursery furniture this evening! I worked a full day at school, but mustered up the energy for a little bit of nesting! I was DYING to see some progress! More pictures to come soon, but here's a little peek... LOVE IT! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!

What a week!!!

Thanks to some help/encouragement from Eric's parents, we were able to move a great deal of stuff into the shop! They also helped clean out the room that will eventually become Eric's office/"guest shack." The garage was starting to look more open, but it is beginning to fill back up as we remove items from the office and pull things for a future garage sale! We tried to take advantage of the nice weather before the weekend cold front blew through! On Saturday, Eric had to put in new phone lines and internet for his temporary office in our bedroom. We moved a table from the romper room and reorganized some furniture in our room. It is not ideal, but it will definitely be functional until his office/"guest shack" is complete. The futon is also now in the romper room, which suits Edee and Elkee just fine!
We took a break from the hard work and ventured to Cowboys Stadium for the Dallas Supercross! A friend gave Eric some great tickets, and we decided we needed a "date night!" One of our first dates was to a freestyle motocross show, and this also gave us a great excuse to check out the new stadium.
We were able to visit with our friend Tom while he was between interviews. He does some promotional work for an awesome track, Freestone MX, and he was interviewed several times during the evening. So COOL to see him on the huge screen!!
We were able to actually get a picture together, but there wasn't room for the big screen AND my belly! The poor lady who was the usher for our section was so worried about me. Every time she saw me headed up the stairs she would run over and say, "Are you okay?" I told her Reed was loving it! He did backflips the whole time! :-) It was snowing like crazy when we left and was a great ending to such a fun night!
I have washed tons of clothes in preparation for Reed's arrival! We had a doctor's appointment on Friday and everything looks great! I had a big lunch just before my appointment, which put Reed right to sleep. SOOOO...when it was time for them to monitor his movement and heartrate, he didn't really want to be bothered. I had to drink juice and constantly poke the little guy so he would show them the wiggle worm that he normally is! Thanks to a very productive Spring Break, I'm starting to feel more and more prepared for the big day! WHEW!!

This and That!

Two guys who work for our builder came over on Saturday to help Eric. They wanted a couple of dirt bikes that don't run, so Eric told them they could just work it off. They were the hardest working dudes I have ever seen! Eric couldn't make trips to Home Depot fast enough! They dug a water line to the shop, cleaned out the flower beds, hung peg board in the shop and painted the epoxy on the floor! I worked inside cleaning out Edee's closet and going through some of my things. We are hoping to have a garage sale soon and I am in a nesting mood! I want to get rid of so much STUFF!!! I also set up Reed's bassinet! He may not have a nursery yet, but at least he has somewhere to sleep!
Edee and I also played outside for awhile. She has so much fun exploring! I put her hair in a semi-ponytail and she looked so cute!! She is such a big girl! Here she is covered in avacado, but that smile makes my day! :-)

Hip, Hip, Hooray! It's FINALLY Spring Break!!!

Bus Driver...MOVE that BUS!!!!

Well, it's not quite Extreme Makeover, but we're just as thrilled!! The shop is complete!!! HOORAY!! Eric is prepping the floor before applying the epoxy this weekend. There are so many plans for his man cave! Look at that grin! I think he is just a tad bit excited!!
Jimmy, our builder and new best friend :-), still has to come back to pour the asphalt pad for the RV, but the ground is entirely too wet at this time. If we could have a few more days like today, things should dry out by next week.

Speaking of Extreme Makeover, a family in little ol' Mineola, Texas, was the recipient of the latest makeover which was completed last week. My mom and Gary know the family and spent many hours on site during the build. I believe the show is going to air on May 9th. You can read a little about the family on Gary's website www.easttexasreflections.com under "Miracles Among Us: Ryanne Carr on the Move."

OH and did I mention...??

This was the "predicament" Eric got himself into Saturday morning at the Mega Run just hours BEFORE I strapped my precious angel in for the trail ride!! Have these pregnancy hormones caused me to completely lose my common sense?? Seems he tried to climb a hill that was a little too much for the Sami! He suffered no injuries, but the Sami is slightly bruised! Fortunately, the trail ride took a much more gentle route!

Sunny Saturday!

Hooray for sunny weather! Even though Edee and I are fighting horrible colds, we still made the most of the beautiful sunshine on Saturday! Edee still loves the swing at Nonna's! She was fascinated by this parrot and its bike! One of the many stops she made while exploring the yard!
We even ventured to Barnwell Mountain on Saturday afternoon so she could participate with Daddy on the trail ride! They were gone for about an hour and a half while Mom and I sat in the sunshine. When they drove up, Edee had a pasted on grin! She was covered in red dirt, but couldn't have been happier! Her new Minnie Mouse had a layer of dirt, as well, but it looked like she was a well-loved on the ride!

Moving right along...

The walls and most of the roof went up on Thursday. Also, the tree that our builder really didn't want to come down was FINALLY removed! After looking at it, there would have been NO way to back the camper up around that thing! It had to go! Eric didn't cut it down, but he sure looks comfortable with that chainsaw! Here is her "face," as one of the guys called it. I guess that's shop-builder talk!
We also had a visit with Dr. O on Thursday afternoon. Reed looked great! He had his foot tucked up under his boy parts, which explains why I had mentioned to Eric minutes before the ultrasound that I thought he was about to crawl out of my belly button! I guess he was being modest and hiding "things!" I am 30 weeks now, so at 32 weeks we will begin our weekly appointments of BPPs (biophysical profiles) and NSTs (non-stress tests). Basically, they will be monitoring/measuring the baby with an ultrasound each week along with listening to his heart to make sure he is continuing to grow and shows no signs of distress. They will also be watching to see if he is practicing his breathing!
Edee can now tell you that her little brother is "Reed!" Sometimes she will say "Baby Brother Reed." It is so precious, but does she really know what is coming??? ;-)
