Giddy up!

Edee had Western Day at school last week and I completely forgot! She doesn't really own a cowgirl outfit (YET), but I would have at least put her in jeans! As you can see, she wasn't a huge fan of the pony. Eric says that is going to save him tons of money!! He just always assumed that he would get to buy her a mini-horse and that it would roam around the backyard terrorizing Elkee. Of course, I reminded him that she doesn't like horses, but she LOVES horse power! She's going to want to ride a pink four-wheeler or a Sami all her own one day soon! For now, she got a new wagon from the Hanveys and that is about the right speed for making laps around the yard!

Spring is in the Air!

Our first Easter

Looking for frogs in the fountain

Enjoying the sunshine and a "furniture-free" patio!

We have been able to have some time outside recently and Edee absolutely LOVES it! If you open the door to let Elkee out and don't take her to the patio...LOOK OUT! She will cry and cry! The last picture was taken before the patio was pressure washed. As you can see from the pictures above, not all of the stain came up but at least there are not little paint chips everywhere. What did not come up seems to be there for life! I think Edee and Elkee liked the patio better before we put the furniture back. They liked the wide open space! I'll have more Easter pictures uploaded in the next day or so, but I've added a preview! :-)

Eric is back!!!

HOORAY!!!! Eric is back from Houston, and Edee and I are thrilled! He left Tuesday morning for a convention, so he was not able to be here for the new developments with my dad. My mom came in town quickly when the situation with my dad presented itself. I was so lucky to have her here for moral support and to help with Edee while I've been at Baylor!!

I was able to surprise Eric by having a guy come out and pressure wash the patio. We stained it ourselves a few years ago, but the freeze this year really did a number on it. It has been peeling and cracking, but we just haven't had time to do much with it. Eric has been so busy lately and still manages to be the best Daddy. If he wants or needs something, he buys it or takes care of it before I can beat him to it. I was so excited to be able to pull one over on him!!

I know that some of you may have not known the situation that was going on with my dad, Wally, so I probably caught people off-guard. He has been a cancer patient for the last 7-8 years. He is very active with skiing, golfing, etc., and has always had a positive attitude. He has gone through several rounds of chemo and radiation over that period of time. The bone marrow transplant is the next treatment option. He is able to do a self-donation because his marrow was clean and they extracted those cells in January. We have just had a bump in the road, but the transplant should still take place in May after he finishes this round of chemo. Please check in on his link for updates. I will try to keep this link about our little family, with the main focus being on the light of our lives...Miss Edee Sue!!! :-) Thank you for praying for my dad!!

Update on Daddy

We were presented with a change in Daddy's cancer attack plan today. I don't think I can explain it any better than TeeLee, so please visit the "Who's With Wally" link in the right column for the latest update on Daddy.

Our First Roast

My husband says I should be embarrassed to admit this, but I cooked my first roast yesterday! I live with a wonderful cook, so he has always been the one to prepare this fabulous comfort food. However, he was busy installing six (yes, I said SIX) new light fixtures in the house yesterday. I have wanted to get rid of the 1980's-era fixtures, and we finally finished that challenge! Anyway, I took it upon myself to prepare the roast and it was great, if I do say so myself. Edee had some of the leftovers for lunch today and it was her first roast, too. As you can see, she enjoyed every bite and was thoroughly stuffed when it was gone! Elkee supervised and was in charge of clean-up!!

Spring Break and First Dates!

Edee had an ear infection at the beginning of Spring Break, so we laid low for most of the week. She has been such a healthy baby, and when she DOES get sick she manages to do it when I am off of work! I guess she doesn't want me to use up my sick days! :-) I worked on cleaning out some closets and drawers, so I see a garage sale in our near future!

We did manage to get down to Lake Travis for the weekend. My dad and Christy were headed that direction, but we missed them by a day. They were kind enough to let us stay at their house so that we could have a quick getaway! (I think I just made a rhyme!!) While we were in Spicewood, we were able to meet Cooper for the first time. Aunt Katy and Uncle Brad hosted a cookout at their house and we were able to enjoy the sunshine and view of the hill country with Austin's newest residents, Caryn, Pat and Cooper. He is such a handsome little man! I hope we can get those two together this summer for some lake time! Cooper's mom had these pictures on her blog, so I need to give her the photography credits. I have yet to upload my pictures from the weekend. Thank you Caryn!!
